On October 8, 2025, the flag of the United States of Kerban (USK) reached space for the third time, flying aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard NS-36 as part of the Flag to Space Project 2025.The flight marked five years since the first USK flag entered orbit on the Cygnus NG-14 mission to the International Space Station in 2020. This latest mission carried a flag signed by young people and space enthusiasts, representing curiosity, unity, and the belief that space exploration belongs to everyone. The Flag to Space Project 2025 was initiated by Peter Štefánik, SERA commercial astronaut candidate, as part of his outreach efforts to inspire the next generation and promote education in science and space-related fields. Each signature on the flag stands as a reminder that exploration and inspiration can transcend borders and reach beyond Earth.
The Flag to Space Project is an educational and outreach initiative dedicated to inspiring young people to pursue careers in science, technology, and space exploration. The 2025 mission was made possible through Blue Origin’s Club for the Future and its Postcards to Space program, which provides an opportunity for students and organizations around the world to send symbolic items to space and back aboard New Shepard.Through this collaboration, the United States of Kerban continues to promote international cooperation and public engagement in the peaceful exploration of space.
